I am very happy to participate in this event because we have the great honor to have with us Jaden Hair author of Steamy Kitchen’s healthy asian favorites.
It is our pleasure to have her this Sunday and have enjoyed her fabulous recipes.
For me it was quite an adventure, I have tried for many years to make Asian foods with no success but since I opened this book and started reading the recipes I realized that it is very simple and all I needed to do was follow the instructions and buy one that another ingredient, as she gives us a very comprehensive list of what we need to make a success of Asian food.
Today is extra special because we are giving away 20 fabulous books and the steps for you to have one’s seen later, for now I invite you to try one of the recipes we did and I’m sure you will be impressed how easy and delicious it is .
So remember to participate and try these great recipes.
OK, this are a little tricky to make, meaning you must follow the directions. Don’t go off-script! But what a fab way to use up any rice (not leftover rice that has been refrigerated) so that the patties stick together. These patties are crispy, crunchy, and puffy! A dab of soy sauce is brushed on top before the patties go on the skillet.
Jaden Hair in Steamy Kitchen’s healthy asian favorites
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup cooked rice per patty
cooking oil
Soy sauce
DIRECTIONS
Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper. Fill a bowl with cool water.
Dip your hands in the water, shaking off the excess (this prevents the rice from sticking to your hands). Scoop up a small handful of rice (about the size of a golf ball). Shape into a flat patty. Repeat with the remaining rice. You’ll need to dip your hands in the water for each patty. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or up to eight hours.
Heat a nonstick skillet on medium heat. When hot, swirl in the oil. Brush both sides of the rice patty with soy sauce. Add as many rice patties as will fit in the skillet. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, or until crispy.
Serve immediately.

I Always have left over rice so this is perfect!
I’m all about some crispy rice, and I’m totally using this recipe next time I have some leftover rice in the fridge!
One of my favorite Korean snacks!
I want to try these, they look and sound fabulous.
My favorite Asian dish is fried rice, partly because I always seem to have leftover rice. But your Crispy Rice Patties look like another good use my leftovers! Thanks.

Your rice patties look great! I do hope that Jaden’s cookbook gets you successfully cooking Asian foods! Like I said in my post, I think she does a great job in making Asian food and cooking approachable and non-intimidating, especially for those who might be new to the idea of Asian food.
I really really really want to try this recipe out from the book! I love how simple it is, but with such great texture and flavor!
I’m so intrigued by these and I cannot wait to give them a try!

These sound so easy and good. I always make extra rice, so I’ll have to do this. It would be fun to top with the Thai Larb Chicken I made, or the Koran Beef!
