Guava BBQ Sauce #SundaySupper

Guava BBQ SauceThis sunday we have delicious and amazing sauces, sweet and savory, yep we have everything for you.
I made something different this time and because I know football season brings a lot of grilling, I thought the this BBQ sauce is just right, Guava BBQ Sauce is delicious, great in poultry or pork, for dipping and to shake it up a little bit a traditional staple in our house.

By the way the meatballs in the picture are turkey meatball, recipe coming soon.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 ounces Guava paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 mince garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat a sauce pan to medium heat add the guava paste and the water and simmer until the paste is completely dissolved, about 5 minutes, then add the rest of the ingredients, mix well and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Cool completely before store in the fridge or used immediately with you grill chicken or winds.

Yield about 2 cups.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Level of the recipe: Easy

  20. Love the combination of flavors, Kathia. I happen to have a rectangle of dulce de membrillo that I brought back from Ecuador this summer. Do you think I could substitute it for the guava paste?

    • Yes Stacy you can definitely substitute with the dulce de membrillo, is a little sweeter than the Guava paste thats all.
