I’m so exited, this is my first time hosting an event since I join the #SundaySupper family, and what better way to start this new adventure then having a Halloween Party.
Yes we are having a party, with a lot of candy, cupcakes, cakes, cocktails, and of course some main dishes just in case you need something to wash down all the sweetness.

ORANGE POUND CAKE #HelpingHands for #SundaySupper

It’s amazing what a family together, and even more amazing what family does this week to help our brothers in New Jersey and New York.
I want to motivate you to donate to this cause and help those who need us so much. I am grateful for the many blessings we have received and I would love to be there and help personally, as it is somewhat complicated for me to do, I want at least inspire with this delicious recipe.
So I invite you to donate to this great cause and help our brothers in the way that best works for you, remember them today for tomorrow we do not know what could happen.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup nonfat sour cream
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Pinch of salt
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (176 degrees C).
In a mixer, beat butter and sugar for five minutes, add the eggs one by one and the lemon zest. In a bowl sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and pinch of salt in another bowl mix the lemon juice, sour cream and vanilla.

Add dry ingredients and wet to butter mixture alternately ending with flour. Pour into a greased chimney mold and bake for 45 minutes.

Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, unmold the cake and place on a wire rack to finish cooling.

This recipe makes 12 servings.

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 40 minutes

APPLE AND PECANS CAKE for #SundaySupper

Summer is over and we start now one of the seasons of year that I enjoy the most, Fall, which brings some of the traditions that every family enjoys, such as is to go to pick apples.
Delicious apples of all types and sizes with which we can make many desserts, entrees and hot and cold drinks.
I love this time of year and what better way to start the fall.
The #SundaySupper family wants to inspire you with a lot of delicious recipes that you can enjoy this season.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 apples, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 2/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a bowl stir together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, brown sugar and regular sugar, mix just until incorporated.
In another separate bowl stir for butter, milk and eggs, join the above mixture and revulva well, finally add apples and pecans.

Place in a previously greased Bundt pan and bake for 45 minutes.

Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, remove from pan and place on a wire rack to cool completely.

This recipe makes 12 servings of cake
