SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE

I am a lover of Italian food, and I always try to recreate some of the classics.

For example, this spaghetti instead of beef use ground turkey because I have young girls and does not contain red wine.
The result is delicious, full of flavor and this is especially for those who want to care for the calories.
This pasta is the best for weekends, can make a large amount and save the rest for other days.
There are many ideas and you will put its magic touch to make it even more delicious.

INGREDIENTS

1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound of ground turkey
1 tablespoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce 425 grams
1 tablespoon butter
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1 / 2 cup chopped parsley salt and pepper to taste
1 cup of water where the pasta is cooking 1 box of Penne pasta

DIRECTIONS

Cook pasta according to package directions.
In a saucepan heat oil and melt butter, add onion, garlic, oregano and meat, cook for 8 minutes. Following this add the tomato paste and stir well with meat, add the ketchup and tomato sauce and the water that reserves of the pasta, add salt and pepper to taste and simmer for 20 minutes over medium heat.
Once ready incorporate the pasta and stir well, add the parsley and serve.

You may sprinkle parmesan cheese and be accompanied by toasted bread.

Serves 8 people.

TURKEY GYOSA

As a lover of cooking, I enjoy trying new recipes.

And Asian cuisine is very versatile, this type of food is delicious and inexpensive.
You can serve at a party or as a main course at dinner, very fast to prepare and delicious as always.
I invite you to venture into this recipe and try different fillings, it is worth trying.

INGREDIENTS

1 pound of ground turkey
1 / 2 cup chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 / 2 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup of water plus 1/4 more to close the wonton
1 package of Wonton wrapper

DIRECTIONS

Mix the turkey with salt, garlic powder, vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard and cilantro.
Place 1 / 2 teaspoon of the filling into in the center of the Wonton and close putting water on the sides and giving it the shape you want.
In a saucepan, heat a teaspoon of oil and place the gyosas, let it brown for 3 minutes, add half cup of water and cover immediately.
Let it finish cooking for 8 minutes.
Serve immediately.

SWEET SAUCE

Mix 1 / 2 cup light soy sauce with 1 / 4 cup honey.

This recipe makes 60 Gyosas.

GREEN BEANS HASH

My beloved mother makes a delicious hash green beans, a dish that you really enjoy and repeat.

She does not give me the recipe and the secret because it is so delicious, but in my attempt to recreate the recipe, I gather some ingredients and I achieve something very similar.
This is a very delicious family recipe so I hope you like it.

INGREDIENTS

2 pounds of chopped green beans
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chopped onion
1 / 2 teaspoon achiote
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons butter
1 can chopped tomatoes 411 grams
2 pounds of meat either pork or beef
2 tablespoons of ketchup
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

In a hot pan melt butter, add onion, garlic, dried oregano and achiote.
Add the chopped can green beans and tomatoes, and meat, simmer 20 minutes over medium heat.
Add salt, pepper and ketchup.
Stir well and apart from the heat.

You can serve this hash with salad or rice.

Serves 4 people.

SWEET CORN BREAD #FromScratch

Here in San Diego is so cold and raining that the best way for me to keep the house warm is baking.

This is a versatile bread that can be used to accompany both savory and sweet dishes, they all love it and now we’re so close to the holidays that will be part of the tradition in any home.
Enjoy this delicious dish that must be present in your home.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can sweet corn 432g
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 1 cup pancake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 stick butter, melted

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease a baking dish 8×8 inches (20×20 cm).
  3. In a blender or food processor, place all ingredients, blend or process well.
  4. Pour in the mold and bake for 45 minutes.
  5. Bread is done when a cake tester comes out clean.
  6. Let cool thoroughly before cutting.
  7. Depending on how big you cut it gets 12 pieces.

GRANDMA’S HOT CHOCOLATE

When it’s cold and rainy the first thing that comes to mind is my granny, she lovingly prepared us hot chocolate in those days.

Not just any chocolate, was so special that immediately put us to sleep, incredible as it may seem.
Her secret? Very simple egg yolk.
That simple ingredient gave it something so special and comforting that it was impossible avoid feeling relax.
And because for me it is so special, I wanted to share it with you.
Try it, it’s really delicious.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup milk
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 / 4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg yolk

DIRECTIONS

In a small saucepan heat the milk, do not let it boil, add the chocolate, sugar and cinnamon.
Apart from heat and stir constantly and add the egg yolk.
Continue moving to dissolve well and serve immediately.

This recipe makes one cup.

5 INGREDIENTS PIZZA

The obsession with pizza at home is big, for this reason I need to create new recipes with the delicious taste of pizza without having to make the whole process of making the dough.
This idea came to me from another recipe that I make very often, the difference is that here all the ingredients are ready, and that is why I love to create this recipe is very simple, delicious and quick.
So I share with you this simple recipe that will be helpful for a quick lunch.

INGREDIENTS


8 corn tortillas
1 / 2 cup prepared pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 / 2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon butter

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Grease a small rectangular pan.
Warm the tortillas for 30 seconds in the microwave, place a spoonful of cheese in the center of the tortilla and fold like a taco form. Place in pan sprinkle the sauce, cheese and oregano.

Bake for 15 minutes, let it cool for 5 minutes before cutting.

Serves 4 people.

SLEEPLESS BY A MERINGUE

I am not a trained pastry chef but I love making desserts.
These delicious meringues have been my long sleepless, for a long tim, they never feel the way I wanted to.
One day I realized that the weather and the work area are very important when making meringue, if the day is warm and the utensils are very clean they come out perfect .
With lots of love and pride I want to share this recipe, which I can now say, these are the most delicious meringues I’ve ever eaten.

INGREDIENTS

4 egg whites
1 / 4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 1 / 4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
orange food coloring

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 200 degrees F (110 degrees C).
Place the whites in the bowl of a blender, add cream of tartar, salt and beat at high speed to soft peaks form.
Add the sugar gradually beat for 10 minutes.
The meringue should be shiny and with firm peaks.
Reduce speed and add vanilla and a splash of food coloring.
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and with two spoons or pipping bag make the design you like the most.
Bake for one hour or until meringues are firm.
Do not worry if the center feels chewy.
Store in a container with lid.

This recipe makes 30 meringues.

TURKEY PATTIES AND SWEET POTATO FRIES

If you have never tasted turkey, this is a great way to start.

The patties are so juicy and full of flavor that no one would say that they are eating turkey meat.
The most amazing is that this type of meat is underestimated by many, and is actually very versatile and healthy.
I assure you that even the little ones will line up to eat.
And the fries are delicious, I leave this idea to try it and tell me later.

INGREDIENTS

1 pound of ground turkey
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
3 sprigs of chopped green onion
6 tablespoons of masa MASECA ®
1 egg
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

In a bowl mix the mustard,sauce, garlic, oregano and green onions.
Add turkey meat and stir well.
Add salt and pepper, egg and MASECA ® harina slowly until it is all incorporated.
Form patties and fry in a pan with 2 tablespoons of oil for 4 minutes on each side, brown on the outside and juicy inside.
Yield 16 patties.

FOR FRENCH FRIES

Cut sweet potatoes into long strips and fry in plenty of oil for 5 minutes.
Drain on a plate lined with paper towels and sprinkle with coarse salt to enhance the flavor.
